Café Transit, Chicago, IL
Estimated Completion: Winter 2014
Partnering with the owner of Caffe Streets, Norsman Architects aims to create an on-the-go gourmet coffee stop for Chicago’s blue line commuters.
Inhabiting only 100 square feet of space within the Damen, as well as the California blue line stations, the design for Café Transit is finely tuned to engage the spatial needs of the café employee as well as the time constrained commuter. Creating a harmonious balance between efficiency, technology, and beauty has been the primary challenge for the design team and upon completion, Café Transit will be a welcome addition to the vibrant Wicker Park and Logan Square neighborhood stations.
